How long before my move should I contact a mover?
The earlier is always the better. Four to six weeks notice is preferred, if possible, as the more lead-time you can give us, the more likely we will be able to meet your specific delivery schedule. However, if situations arise that do not allow this much notice, simply give us a call! Armstrong Relocation can help you develop a move plan.
-
Are the items being relocated fully insured?
Industry regulation requires carrier’s liability at $.60 per pound per item. Additional coverage is available on a per quote basis and will be covered by the Armstrong Relocation representative before moving.
-
Do file cabinets need to be emptied?
All vertical files may be moved with the contents intact. All lateral file cabinets must have the top two drawers emptied of contents. If ownership of any lateral file cabinet is transferred, it is suggested that all drawers be emptied at origin.
-
Can desks and credenzas be moved with contents inside?
Under most situations, desks and credenzas are turned on end when moved, so they should be completely emptied before moving.
-
How are moving charges calculated?
When origin and destination facilities are no more than 50 miles apart, charges are calculated on the number of moving personnel (supervisors, laborers, and trucks), equipment, and the amount of time needed for the move (including travel time).
-
What day of the week and time will the move take place?
Most building facilities prefer Saturday and Sunday for office moves. Occasionally facilities will allow moving to begin after 5:00 pm on weekdays. There is a premium charge involved with Sunday hours though. Days and times should be discussed with your Armstrong Relocation representative.

How long will the move take?
Every move is unique, which makes it very difficult to provide an estimate without a visit to your office. Armstrong Relocation would welcome an opportunity to provide you with either a budgetary figure or a firm proposal after a walk-through of your offices.
-
Can my employees assist your personnel with the move?
Armstrong Relocation’s primary concerns are safety and liability. Our insurance company prohibits your office personnel from assisting with your move.

Armstrong Relocation will work with you to develop a numbering and color-coding system to ensure every item is properly marked at origin and delivered to the proper place in your new offices.

Will you disconnect and reconnect our computers?
Typically, a company’s IT team will disconnect and reconnect all electronic equipment. However, we do offer this service through our tech team who would coordinate with your IT department. Simply discuss this with our representative and we can plan accordingly.

How will you protect the items being relocated?
Each moving van is equipped with moving pads, shrink wrap, decking bars and contains logistical “tracs†allowing your shipment to be properly strapped and secured before transit.

-
How many men will you have on our move?
The crew size and equipment needed is determined by facility access at origin and destination, time designated for moving, and anticipated furniture movement and set-up. Once the moving needs are decided upon, we will assign the proper crew accordingly.
